222 TAKING A KNEE FOR JUSTICE
2 MANY HAVE DIED 2 MUCH TO IGNORE 2 LITTLE IS BEING DONE
There’s some controversy around the notion of taking a knee.
But what if we reframed it?
What if we see it not as an act of againstness. What if we see it for the intention behind it? A gentle but powerful call for help.
What if we see it as an invitation?
What if it’s an invitation to prayer?
What if it’s an invitation to take an unjust world and make it just?
What if it’s an invitation to take a moment out of our day to stop, to step into a space of reverence and imagine the world we would like to see?
What if taking a knee was in fact an inspired act of hope, of peace, of beauty? For all who live on this Earth?
And so... at 2.22pm Saturday April 22nd 2017
We invite you wherever you are, whatever you are doing, join us in taking a knee for 2 minutes of silence. Say a prayer. Say a prayer for how you would like this world to be. Honor the fact that a disproportionate number of our black and brown sisters and brothers have been killed unfairly. Honor them. Honor their grieving families. Let them know we have not forgotten them, and in their honor, with a prayer and a respected bended knee, let’s envision a new new world, a beautiful world in which all our brothers and sisters walk the world safe and protected.
Lets set our clocks. Let's set our alarms. Lets dream in a new earth.
2.22 on the 22nd. Take a knee for 2 minutes of personal prayer.
If you would like to join us, please share far and wide. There is much to be done. And all positive action starts with how we choose to envision this Earth. Never doubt your own power to shift the collective. It begins in our own minds eye. And it often begins with a prayer.
